Navy Tailgate Wrap-Up:

My take on the tailgate:

Overall:

Ahhhh the first tailgate of the year.  Perfect weather, perfect spot and perfect out come.  This years tailgating season snuck up on me amazingly quick.  Usually you log on to the website and think to yourself, will the count down ever end.  However, this summer every time I logged on I couldn’t believe how quickly it was coming.  Anyway, the first tailgate of the year went off surprisingly well.  Everything we needed was brought for a change, though I am not sure if we got any pictures.  Regardless the tailgating season opened up a lot smoother than the football season.

Tailgate Highlights:

Again the table seems to be the crème de la crème of the tailgate.  Located next to the side walk the table caught many an eye from impressed passer byers and held up quite well on the grassy knoll.  In a way the table is becoming too dangerous.  It was like a magnet attracting random people to our flip cup game, which may have exposed us to countless germs and STD’s according to our resident neat freak Shannon.  Speaking of which, how sanitary was the grass spot between your feet after two rounds of flip cup eh Witchart?

Tailgate Lowlights:

The lowlight of the tailgate had to be the wind.   Though the breeze was refreshing it was just killing the drinking games.  The poor conditions contributed to one of the longest beer pong games on record and also lead to some trying times for flip cup participants.  Another low light was the traffic that kept Cory and Jill away.  It is hard enough to get from DC to Baltimore, but to have to sit in traffic just to arrive at the tailgate 5 minutes before everyone leaves for the game is just too cruel a fate.  We appreciate their effort.  After all, with Jill present our tailgate has a total of 4 Jeopardy wins, without her we combine for 0.

Tailgate MVP:

I really hate to do it.  I mean I REALLY hate to do it.  This is like the new PC musical chairs where they take away a chair but everyone still plays and just piles on the few chairs remaining so that no one gets their feeling hurt from losing, but I can not pick an MVP this week.  I know, I believe in a society where some people rise above others, and I firmly believe that competition builds character but I am sticking with the tie.  Everyone at the tailgate had a job to do, a place to be, and stuff to bring and everyone full filled their duty to the utmost.  Bix got us the parking pass, J brought the grill, the Leavitts brought the meat, Shannon brought the dip and cake, Mary made the rice krispy treats, Brian and the Forrests brought the invaluable water and chips, and I can not single out anyone.  This hopefully won’t be a trend and later in the season I am sure others will falter and others will rise and we will indeed have true MVP’s, but just not today.
