Maryland Single Game Predictions

Terps 20 NIU 10

In a much anticipated rematch from last years opening night debacle, the Terps will get the win after a slow start.  Look for the offense to struggle early and NIU to take an early lead.  Josh Allen will get rolling opening things up for Statham.  Look for Statham to throw for about 165 yards and 1 td, Josh Allen will rush for 95 yards, with Sammy the Bull pitching in 40 yards and 1 TD.

Terps 37 Temple 13

The Defense will be the story of this game for the Terps setting the offense up with excellent field position.  Look for Josh Allen to go for 150+.  Sam Hollenbach will get some action in the 4th quarter as well.  Statham will throw for 225 yards in a game the Terps will take a big early lead on 2 Statham TD’s and one a piece from Allen and Maldonado.   Das Boot will nail 3 fg’s with one 50+ yards!  Pong is really the story at this tailgate as it is the first full tailgate.

Terps 27  Hoopies 24

The game we have all been waiting for.   The Terps D will struggle trying to stop WVU wide out Chris Henery, and RB Kay-Jay Harris.  Josh Allen and the Bull will combine for 225 yards and three td’s while Statham will not have the same type of appearance we are used to seeing from Mr. Green Bay Packer, Scott McBrien at Hoopie’er Stadium.   He will get one Td but will have two picks.  The Terps will have a lead heading into the fourth and will struggle to hang on for the W.  We remember to lock the doors this year before ditching the car in favor of cabs.  We take J around the sites of Motown for his unofficial D7 bachelor party.  (Important Note:  The table makes and survives it first trip into enemy territory.)

Terps 40 Puke 10

Look for rushing stats galore.  Allen 115, Maldonado 85, Ball 45.   Statham will throw for 195 1 td’ while the running backs will add 2.  Also look for a defensive or special teams score.  I am getting that feeling for this one.  The Devils are way over matched and the second team mops up the fourth quarter.

Terps 13 GT 10

In a game where both offenses Struggle Das Boot is the savior.  Reggie Ball tries scrambling for his life, but the improving Terps D keeps them in the game.  The offense moves the ball just enough to get in position for Das Boot to convert 3 of 4 field goals.

Terps 30 NCST 28

After last weeks defensive struggle the Terps get the offense moving much better against the pack.  Terps get a nice balanced attach from the Duo of Allen and Maldonado.  They combine for 190 yards and a pair of TD’s while Statham gets 1TD on 215 yards in the air.  Another successful homecoming.  D7 realizes Bentley’s is to packed after a money trip to Marathon Deli, and heads back to lot 1 to finish the day.

Terps 17 Clemson 10

Clemson comes out cold as the Terps jump to a 14-3 halftime lead, and the Tigers make a nice halftime adjustment and come up just a hair short in the second Half.  Statham and Allen each rush for one TD in the first half.  Numbers in the second half dwindle and the only score comes on Novak field goal after a Clemson TO inside their own 30.  Bob W. is last seen showing Tyson the text message from Chris B with the final score update.  The big man can no longer stand the losing trend to the Terps (and Bob’s witty remarks) and beats Bob to within an inch of his life.

Terps 10 FLST. 24

Well did you really predict me to say they would go undefeated?  In a game the majority of D7 misses, the Terps are showing signs that they may be closing the gap on the ACC’s elite, but just aren’t quite there yet.  Rix has a rough outing, but the Noles D carries the team and scores on TD and leads to another.  The Terps play well but are killed by turnovers!  By the time the night game is over most people really could care less since they are having a grand old time at the Harne wedding.  Gilmore over hears the bartender saying there is no more beer and asks the question, Does whiskey count as beer?

Terps 20 UVA 17

In a big rivalry game, the Terps start slow down 10-0 at the end of the first quarter.  They start picking up Mo thanks to a defensive TD and get rolling in the second half.  Statham plays his best half of football in the second  going for 225 in the half to lead the charge.  MD backs combine to rush for 110 yards.  Cory spends most of the game berating brother-in-law Byron on his cell phone from the safety of the Terrapin Clubs seats.

Terps 24 VT 21

Another Nail biter on a bitter night in Blacksburg.  Those few Terps fans in attendance call this one of the greatest finishes in road trip history behind the NC State game of ’03, of course.   Novak Drills a 53 yarder with the wind to avoid OT as the clock expires.  Terps fans go nuts and Tech fans start fires outside the stadium!  Both QB’s struggle in the conditions and the game is won by the Terps stellar rushing performance. The party in the parking lot goes to the wee hours of the morning for the 4 dedicated Terp Fans who made the trip!

MD 45  Wake 20

In the season finale the Terps take care of business on all sides of the ball.  Wake scores some late TD’s against the second team D.  Chris Kelly is the hero on senior day picking off two passes, one for a score.  Chants of you can’t stop us ring out from the student section towards the police auxiliary protecting the goal post.  Following the game the Police Auxiliary go to the athletic department and demand collapsible goal post, due to the fact they agree with the students, and indeed can not stop them!
