"E." Here we are for round two of 5 Questions on D7tailgate.com sponsored by Bix’s Homebrew. This week’s contestant is Elise "E" Murphy. Place of Birth: West Harford, CT Birth Date: 5/25/77 Birth weight: 7 lbs 10 oz. Birth Height: 22 INCHES!!!!!!!!! (I’m no expert on baby size, but that sounds very long to me) High school: Northwest Catholic (Indians) Undergrad: Wake Forrest: Bachelors Degrees in Religion and Sociology Grad School: American University Masters in International Relations Hoping to pursue a Doctorate of Political Science, currently in application process
Nicknames: Rumphy and "E"
Ok here is a quick question to get you warmed up. According to your bio you were 22" at birth. Did your parents think they had the next great women’s basketball player when they first laid eyes on you? "Well actually my parents thought I was supposed to be boy. Needless to say they were very surprised, my name would have been Michael." (Sounds like another new nickname)
Ok, on to the real questions. Good luck and enjoy!
1. Which channel is better MTV or E!? "E! Absolutely" E is correct. After Dr. Leavitt's horrible outing, we wanted to give you a "softball" question to build up your confidence for later in the quiz. Plus I will find any possible reason to shout out "E" in a low voice. 2. What place will Wake Forrest football finish in this year? "6th, no reason though, I just like the number 6." Obviously you haven't heard of the Wake Forest Theorem. In order to determine WF's finish in the ACC for football you simply take the total # of schools in NC that don't have the word "State" in them (3), subtract that number from the number 11 (your constant variable for number of teams) and you come out with the correct finish for Deacon Football, 8th! They must not stress Math too much at Wake.
3. Which place is better England or New England? "Very tough, I like England, but I must say New England, there really is no place better than New England Correct, usually when something is "New" it really means it is just the same old crap in a new package, but in this case I think the Ole USA really made some improvements. Much like the age old debate, which is better Mexico or New Mexico, we are going to go out with the old, and in with the "New".
4. What is more painful to watch? A replay of Mookie Wilson's ground ball going through Bill Buckner's legs in the 86 World series, or Watching the Terps take down your Demon Deacons? "Bill Buckner, still haunts me today. I was only 9 when they were playing that game, and I was allowed to pick one game to stay up late and watch the whole game. I picked game six, really could have missed the whole thing." Incorrect! Have you not noticed this web site is for fans of Maryland football? We could really not give a crap about the "Curse of the Bambino". Anyways, what kind of parents do you have that only let you pick one game to watch late when the beloved Sox are in the WS? Haven't they ever heard the 1918 chant?????
5. We hear you used to pretend you were married to Jim Rice (former Red Sox OF) and would pretend to be traveling with him on road trips and the whole nine yards. (What is that all about? I know you are a die hard sox fan, but don’t you think that is a little overboard? I hope you were like 5 when you did that!) So who is more fun to travel with Imaginary Husband Jim Rice or Current beau Johnny? "I can't answer that, I love them both the same. I was 7 or 8. My imaginary husband should be in the Hall of Fame though. For that matter John should be in the Intramural 6ft and Under Basketball HOF for hitting that winning shot against the Chinese Student Union." Incorrect! The correct answer would be Jim Rice. You wouldn't have to worry about him losing his wallet or cell phone in a Limo when you are going out after the game!
There you have it the second edition of 5 questions. Michael, I mean E is the new leader in the clubhouse with 2 correct. Way to go "E!". Looking forward to seeing you at the tailgates this year.
