Georgia Tech @ Maryland 2005 EA Simulation
Well, since our starting lineup is set in play dough these days I decided I would start the lineup I thought would be the starting lineup. Four us I started Bowers, Garrison, Caner-Medley, McCray, and Gilchrist. Tech's lineup was Shenscher, McHenery, Ism'ail Muhammed, Wil Bynum, and Jarrett, Jack. Luke Shensher started the scoring with two made FT's. I was starting to wonder if there were covers on the baskets, because everyone was missing shots. McCray ended Maryland's scoring drought with a jumper at the 11:45 mark. Bynum hit a 3 for a 9-4 Tech lead with 9:23 remaining. Two Anthony McHenery ft's made it 11-6 with 7:51 left in the first half. NCM hit a jumper to cut the lead to 11-8. A Mike Jones 15 footer made it 17-10 with 4:07 remaining. It was 21-11 after Ra'Sean Dickey laid in put back. Then the basket that made me think it was over came at the buzzer. Jarrett Jack nailed a three from center court for a 26-15 lead at the half. The second half started a little better for the punch less Terps. Garrison dunked one in, and NCM 3 cut the lead to 28-22. McCray then hit a jumper to put the score at 30-24 with 11:30 remaining. Gilchrist then cut the lead to 4 with layup and one after a foul. A foul line jumper by NCM made it 31-29. Mike Jones stole the inbounds pass after a time out for an easy basket to tie the game at 33. A Will Bowers follow gives MD it's first lead at 38-37. Garrison helped extend the lead to 46-37 with a 10 ft. shot. McCray hit a huge 3 to put the Terps up 10. However, there was no quit in Jarrett Jack. A driving layup was good with a foul on the play. The FT was no good, but Luke was there to cleanup the miss and put it back to cut the lead to 6 with 1:58 remaining. Jarrett Jack then hit a short jumper in the lane to cut the lead to 51-47 with 1:25 left. Garrison converted 2 ft's to make it 55-47. Jack then made two ft's for a four point Terp lead with 54 seconds remaining. McHenery then hit a jumper to cut the lead to 53-51 with 21.8 seconds left. Gilchrist cans both FT's with 15.6 left to put the Terps up 4 again to what would be the final score of 55-51 after Jack missed a three. Big win at home for the Terps who survived an intense Tech D in the first half. BOXSCORE
