MD at Clemson 2006 EA Sim
Well here we are in Death Valley, rated the #23 toughest place according to EA Sports. Our Cyber Terps come in at 4-4, while their human friends are at a nice 6-2 and are bowl eligible. They are calling us slight underdogs and are talking up DE Gaines Adams. Corso Dons the Tiger head, and MD will be kicking off to start this one. Obi kicks and it is taken by C.J. Spiller out to the 22. Proctor drops back and hits TE Thomas Hunter out to the 46 and a first. On first James Davis gets it for one. Davis up the middle for 5. 3rd and 4, Proctor has time, and hits Jacoby Ford, just long enough for the first. Another pass on first is complete to Chansi Stuckey to the 26. Stuckey again down to the 12. Pitch to Davis on first for a loss of 2. Proctor fakes to the FB, takes off and is dropped for a loss of 5. 3rd and 19, a short gain on a pass to Hunter. 4th and 14, and Jad is out for the 33 yarder, and it is good. Bend but don't break D holds on. Dean kicks off and Heyward-Bey gets it from just inside the end zone, and gets it out to the 21. Pitch to Ball loss of 3. Hollenbach hits Isaiah Williams along the sideline for a gain of 13 and a first. On first Ball gets it up the middle for 1. Ball up the middle for 8. 3rd and inches. Ball off tackle, stopped for a loss, but wait, Clemson gets an unsportsmanlike personal foul for celebration, and that will move the chains! MD has it at the Clemson 45. Ball gains one on first. Hollenbach is hit as he throws, but manages to get enough on it for Isaiah Williams to make the catch and run down to the 12. From shotgun, IT'S A DIRECT SNAP TO BALL and he goes untouched for a TD. He too is called for the unsportsmanlike penalty. So Ennis kicks from a little deeper. XP is good. 7-3 with 4:07 left in the second quarter. I think I need to adjust the celebration slider. Spiller takes the return from the 3 out to the 25. Proctor was hit as he threw, and the pass falls harmlessly to the turf. 2nd and 10, the give to Davis and he is popped by Tre Covington, and MD RECOVERS at the 22. Ball gets it on first for a gain of 3. 2nd and 7, Ball up the middle for two more. 3rd and 5, Hollenbach is audibling, and gives to Ball, who breaks one tackle, but is still stopped short. Ennis for a 32 yarder, up and good. 10-3, with 2:32 left. Spiller takes the kick from about 3 deep to the 16. Good coverage. Clemson 4 wide, and the pass goes to Aaron Kelly for 1. 2nd down, and Proctors pass is batted down at the line. 3rd and 9, and corner blitz, Taylor comes up with the sack. 4th and 11, TO MD, Cole Chason to punt from the 15. Oquendo returns it to the Clemson 42 with 1:53 left. Ball goes left for 5. Ball up the middle, just short, 3rd and inches. Give to Cesa from the I, and he gets it. Ball is stopped after a gain of 2, at the 28. MD takes TO #2. Down goes Hollenbach, for a loss of 1 by Antonio Clay. 3rd and 8, Hollenbach has time, looks left, hits Williams, and he turns inside at the 2, 1, TD! XP is good, 17-3, with 37 seconds left in the half. Egekeze kicks off and Jacoby Ford runs it out to the 22. Fake to Davis, and Proctors pass is overthrown. 2nd and 10, Overthrown again trying to go deep. 3rd and 10. Draw to Davis, and he gets the first. TO CU. 1st and 10 from the 33. The play is being reviewed for the spot, and stands (not even close). Proctor airs it out, and Christian Varner picks it off and returns it back to the Clemson 34. Hollenbach is sacked with 9 seconds left, and time expires, before they get another play off. At the half, MD up 17-3. Dean kicks off, and Hey-Bey gets it out to the 19. Ball gets it, spins, jukes and loses a foot race for the end zone to C.J. Gaddis. MD is down to the 44. On first a WR Screen to Williams gets another first to the 30. A give to Ball, no gain. Ball on a counter, gets 5. 3rd and 5 from the 25. Hollenbach goes option, fakes, then finally pitches to Ball, fumbles, but Lattimore is there. Ennis comes out and drills the 44 yard attempt. 20-3. Obi kicks off , and Spiller gets it to the 38. On first down, a pitch to Davis, and he drops back to throw. Picked off by Josh Wilson at the Clemson 42. Give to Ball on first, and he gets 2. Screen to Lattimore, but he is out of bounds incomplete. 3rd and 8. Ball goes right, picks up a block, and he get across the 30 for a first down at the 29. Ball goes right again for 3. 2nd and 7, Ball fights forward for 4 more. 3rd and 3, at the 22. Ball comes up just short 4th and 1, and Ennis is out for a 37 yard kick. Up and Good. 23-3 with 38 seconds left in the 3rd. Spiller returns the kick out to the 19. Proctor hits Stuckey to the 39. Proctor dumps it off to Thomas Hunter for 6 yards as the quarter ends. 2nd and 4, Proctor hits Aaron Kelly, but the Terps are all over it, no gain. The give is to Davis, but he is met by Conrad Bolston in the backfield. 4th and 5, they are going for it, Marcus Wimbush comes in, and gets his hand on it. Incomplete. MD Takes over at the 44. Give to Ball for 5 yards. Ball gets it again, 3rd and inches as he comes up just short, but more importantly stays inbounds. 3:15 and counting. Ball gets the first and more down to the 29. Ball breaks a tackle and gets 9 plus. 2nd and inches at the 19. No gain for Ball, 3rd and inches. 1:45 and counting. Ball gets the first going left. 1st and 10, at the 17. From the I, Ball gets it goes left, no gain. Ball up the middle for 4. 19 seconds. Still in the I, looks like they are going to let time and expire, and they do. BALL GAME!!! Huge win for the Cyber Terps. Looked like it could be a long day after the first drive, but the D put together an impressive performance.
