MD vs MTSU 06 EA Sim
Well last week both the Cyber Terps and the real team pulled off victories, however in Play station World the score was a little bit better for our boys. None the less they are both 1-0 to start the season. Since it is Thursday and all reports are Drew Weatherly is walking around in a boot (not to be mistaken with Das Boot), he is out for the Cyber game. Corso guarantees MD victory for this one. MD is set to receive, and Heyward- Bey returns it out to the 27. On first down Hollenbach hits Oquendo on a slant for a gain of 12. This time Hollenbach hits Oquendo across the middle for 9 plus yards. Ball up the middle for the first. Ball off right tackle for a gain of 5 and get it across midfield. Ball to the left for a gain of 1. Third and 4, delay to Ball from the shotgun, for a loss of 2. Out comes Podlesh. The ball is downed at the 10, however MD is flagged for kick catching interference, and the ball is out to the 27. On first and second, MD's pass rush was great. Third and 10 after two incompletion followed by a sack = punt. Oquendo returns it for a nice gain down to the 40. Ball for no gain. Ball for a short gain of 2. Pitch left for a loss. 4th and 10, and the O is still out there. Hollenbach has Isaiah Williams down the sideline, overthrown. Mid Ten ball. First down inc. Direct snap, and Wimbush stops him for a loss of 4. On third and long, Isaiah Gardner was burnt bad for a long TD pass. Josh Wilson returns the kick out to the 43. First down goes out of bounds. Ball gains 3 on second. Direct snap to Lattimore, and he gains 4. Podlesh out again, and it goes into the end zone for a touch back. Holloway gets a sack on first. Run to the left for a gain of 16. Another run, for a gain of 10. Gain of 8 on a pass to the left. But wait, Fridge challenges the catch, and the play stands. Loss of 4 on a delayed handoff. Third down the pass was broken up by Gardner. Oquendo calls for a fair catch on the punt with 2:56 left. Hand off to Lattimore, passes back to Hollenbach, no gain. Hollenbach drilled on second for an incomplete. 3rd and 10, Lattimore drops the pass. Podlesh out again. Return of 5, out to the 46. On third and 11, the pass was caught, just short of the marker. Punt team on again. Fair catch called, but we let it bounce, downed at the 4. 1:24 to go in the half. Pass to Williams on first out to the 21. 3rd and 10, Hollenbach to Williams up to the 39, TO. Hollenbach to Ball, across midfield to the 41. Hollenbach to Ball for a first down to the 27. Hollenbach airs it out to Lattimore out of the backfield down the left sideline for 6 with 40 seconds to go, and Ennis hits the XP to tie it up. Egekeze to kick off, and it is returned to the 26. Mid Tenn St runs two plays and the half ends. Not impressed. MD kicks off, and MTSU takes over at the 22. Inc on first. Short gain on a pass play on 2nd. A completion to the TE for a first down. Gain of 5 on a run up the middle. Give up the middle, gets a few blocks, across midfield, and finally down at the 46. Gain of 7 to the TE. A pass to the RB gets another first. A sack and an injury to the QB. A gain of 3, makes it 3rd and 7. We are told the starting QB is out with a concussion for the remainder of the game. (Sorry I didn't familiarize myself with MTSU players names. The pass goes to the end zone, and Richard Taylor is out jumped for another MTSU TD. XP is good. MD down 14-7 with 1:44 left in the third. Wilson returns it out to the 21. Ball gets 4 on first. Ball get 2 more. 3rd and 4, and Hollenbach was sacked. (MD now 1-10 on third down conversions). Podlesh out again. Gardner makes a nice tackle on the punt. Gain of 7 on a slant. Play action pass is good for another first down across the middle. Handoff, and Erin Henderson gets the stop for a loss of 2. Another loss of 2 on a run. 3rd and 14, the pass is complete, but it brings up 4th and inches. Punt team on, touchback. Ball gain 10, for 2nd and inches. Williams drops the short pass. Give to Ball, no gain. 4th and 1 with 3:06 and Podlesh out again. MTSU takes over at the 34. Pitch right, and loss of 3. Give to the FB and gain of 6. Gardner makes the tackle on another handoff just short of the first down. Punt team again, downed at the 4 again. 1:39 left and 96 yards to go. Pass to Nolan Carol out to the 26. Pass again to Carroll to the 31. Pass to Williams and he is drilled out and dropped. On third and 5, the pass is broken up. MD goes for it on 4th. Hollenbach rolls right, and throws an incomplete pass. :56 ticks left and MTSU takes over deep in Terp territory. First down. Ball game. Personal foul against MTSU for celebrating the first down. 3rd and 28, and one last QB kneel should do it. Wow, I don't believe what I just saw. Lets hope the real deal is much, much different.
