NC State at Maryland EA Simulation Well the cyber weather must not have been so bad, because Comcast Center was packed to capacity to see this key ACC match up. Chris McCray opened the scoring with a 3 pointer to give the Terps a 3-0 lead. Canner-Medley still feeling like he is on fire, shoots early and often, unfortunately he was slow out of the gates starting 1/4 (0-2 3pt). Engin Atsur tied the game at 6 after an easy lay-up on a backdoor cut and cyber Gary is not happy and calls a timeout after State takes the lead 11-10 with 11:15 after another missed NCM missed three. Etimov hit 3 ft's for a 16-10 lead. Maryland's offense was 100% outside and were shooting 28% after 6 minutes. Shot were being blocked at a torrid pace. A Brackman put back gave the pack a 23-14 lead with 5:30 left. A Gilchrist lay-up cut the lead to 28-22. Maryland shooters were colder than the expected temps! An Ibekwe inside move cut the lead to 8 at 36-28 with 1 minute to go. At the half the score was 40-28. A NCM jumper cut the lead to 8 again in the first minute of the half. NCM cut the lead to 6 sending the crowd into a frenzy. Gilchrist 3 pointer cut the lead to 44-39 with 11:30. A Gilchrist and 1 put the Terps up 1, but missed the ft, with 10:27 remaining. Andrew Brackman scored 4 straight to give State a 52-48 lead with 8:13 remaining. NCM hits another 3 to cut the lead 1, and a Garrison put back gave the Terps a 55-54 lead. McCray then fouled Julius Hodge from three and he converted them all for a 64-57 lead. NCM hits another 3 and an Ibekwe pass to McCray for a jam cut the lead to 64-62 with 1:58. Julius Hodge would make sure that would be as close as the Terps would get after hitting a baby hook in the lead to increase the lead to 4. The final score was a tough 68-64 loss for the Terps. It was a tough game, with poor shooting early and the Terps got down to many times to keep making the come backs.
