NCST at MD 2006 EA Football Sim
Well it's cyber homecoming and the faithful at Byrd are pumped, with a mild clear day. Both our cyber friends and real life Terps are both sitting at 4-2. Kirk and Lee both are going with the home team on this one. NCST is kicking off to start. Heyward-Bey takes it from the 9 to the 27. Ball for a gain of 0 to start! Nice. Hollenbach throws his pass on second behind Oquendo. 3rd and 10. Sam is hit as he throws, gets if off to Lattimore, or a gain of three before he is tackled. Everyone's fave Podlesh comes out and booms one. Blackman breaks one tackle before being brought down at the 28. Andre Brown gains 4. Evans hits TE Matt Kushner for a first. MD challenges, loses and is assessed the TO. 1st and 10, Brown across midfield all the way to the 40. Brown up the middle for 4. 2nd and 6, Brown gains 2 more on a spinning run up the middle. 3rd and 4, Evans hits Brown out of the backfield and picks up the first down to the 15. Navarre gets a sack on first. 2nd and 16, Brown on the delay for 2. 3rd and 14, Noise, Noise! Evans takes off the middle, Wimbush makes the tackle, after he gets the first. Ouch. How does that happen. Brown gets the give on first and proceeds to fumble, and Tre Covington gobbles it up. MD takes over on the two. On first down a pitch to Ball, Safety. 2-0 1:07 left. Podlesh with the free kick and Blackman gets it out to the 35. Brown stopped for a loss of one. Evans is flushed, heaves it down to Donald Bowens for a big gain to the 23. Evans takes off on first for a gain of 9 to the 14. Evans gets it to Bowens again, but is stopped at the 5, as the first quarter expires. Play action, and Bowens is wide open for 6. John Deraney out for the XP, and it is good for a 9-0 pack lead. Deraney kicks off, Heyward-Bey from the three to the 20. Ball up the middle for no gain. Ball for 3, on second. 3rd and 7, Delay to Ball, loss of 4, Podlesh again onto the field. Blackman returns it to across midfield to the 43. Evans hits Geron James for a first down to the 29. Brown gains 9 on first. Brown stopped for a loss of 1. 3rd and 2, Brown gets it on the shotgun option play down to the 7. Evans finally misses someone. 2nd and goal. Delayed handoff to Brown for a loss of 2. Evans hits Lamart Barrett on a slant for a TD. Barrett flagged for the celebration penalty. Xp from the 18. Podlesh with a great punt toward the sideline, and the Pack takes over on their own 47. Evans hits Brown out of the backfield for a first to the MD 36. Brown stopped for no gain, 2nd and 10. An incomplete brings up 3rd down. Evans was hit as he threw, and the pass is incomplete. Deraney comes out to attempt a 53 yarder, and shocker it's good. 0:39 left, 19-0. Almost as bad as the real Terps last week. Wilson from the 4, to the 22. The sunshine scooter wants a helmet to help the Terps. Ball gets it on first and breaks 3 tackles to get the ball to the 35. Hollenbach hits Hey-Bey for 3. Heyward-Bey drops it on 2nd. 3rd and 7, Hollenbach drills Oquendo on a slant, who is in turn drilled, inches short of the first. Brown takes off for 15 to the 37. Evans hits Bowens sliding across the middle for 5. Brown gets 4.5 on the play, 3rd and inches. Playaction, and Evans overthrew his target. Deraney punts to Oquendo for the fair catch at the 14. Ball takes a pitch right for a gain of 11. Hollenbach has lot of time, and hits Haynos is my Homeboy for a big first down to the 45. Hollenbach sacked for a loss of 5. 2nd and 15. Hollenbach hits Ball streaking left, for the first and then some. He is knocked out at the pack 38. Ball up the middle for 9 to the 29. Ball stopped on second before he could get the yard. Natch. 3rd and 2. Ball up the middle for the first to the 27. Hollenbach to Ball from shotgun for 2. Ball gets a few to bring up 3rd and 5. Oquendo fakes a reverse and gains a few out to the 30. Pitch to Ball for a gain of 7. Ball with a nice run to get the first. Gronkowski drops the pass on first. Hollenbach is sandwiched for a sack on 2nd. 3rd and 14, Hollenbach drops back and lead Heyward-Bey a bit much. Podlesh to punt. Time is running out 2:34 left. Brown gets a first to the 42. Brown gets 4 more, and goes over a hundo for the day. TO MD. 1:56 remaining. Brown gets 3. 3rd and3, and Brown gets the first. Brown picks up 2 on first. TO MD, 3rd and 6, and Brown is stopped just short. 4th and 1, and Duraney is going to try an 54 yard attempt. The kick is up and good. 22-3, 0:22 left. Wilson returns the kick to the 17. Ball up the middle for 3. 2nd down was incomplete. Ball gets it to end the game. No stats. Very poor performance. NCST had their way on 3rd down. Biggest part of the game in my opinion this week.
