EA Sims 2008
Wow, this really snuck up this year. Usually I know well in advance when this baby is going to be released, but this year, I didn't even get the game until about a week after the release date. I did not go with the Wii version, and stuck with the PS2 version. In what is becoming a tradition at the initial season sim, we have no idea who our starting QB is going to be. I will be doing three sims again this year, with the first one in the most detail. Another tradition at the sim release is, the O's are in last place in the AL east. But most importantly lets move on to the football.
UGA is ranked #1, followed by OU, OSU, USC, Florida, LSU, Missou, WVU, Wisconsin, Texas, to round out the top 10. The top ACC school is Clemson at 11, and the Terps come in ranked 58th. Ouch. Darius Heyward-Bey is voted Pre-Season, Second Team All-America, 1st team All-ACC. Dane Randolph gets 1st team ACC, while Jamie Thomas gets a second team nod. Not many accolades this year. MD is picked to finish 9th in the ACC, and 5th in the Atlantic. Clemson is favored to win the Atlantic and VA Tech to win the Costal division. Lets find out who EA has starting at QB for us this year.

MD 32 Delaware 37- 1-0 (0-0) Obi Egekeze gets the Terps first points of the year with a 39 yard FG, and Steffy hit Issiah Williams for a 10 YD TD enroute to the win. Key stat that stands out to me, Steffy was sacked 7 times!

Eastern Michigan 0-3 at MD 3-0 EMU jumps out to a 10-0 lead after 1, MD scores 13 in the second to take a 13-10 halftime lead, EMU scores 14 in the 3rd to take a 24-13 lead, MD scores 11 in the fourth including a 34 yard FG by Egekeze with 7 seconds left to force OT. In OT EMU makes a 45 yard FG, and apparently MD did nothing. It figures I can't find how they did not score. Wow, I wouldn't have seen this one coming.

MD leads this one 14-7 after 1, down 21-14 at the half, down 21-17 after 3, and falls 36-33. Wow this all to similar to last years UVA game. We took a 33-28 lead on a Steffy to Oquendo pass with 2:32 left, only to allow UVA to rally with a 63 yard TD with 0:39 remaining in the game and 2 pt conversion.

Well another season wraps up with out a bowl game, according to EASports with Steffy at the helm. #3 VT (12-0) vs. #9 Clemson (10-2) for the ACC Championship. VT wins 34-24 in Tampa. Tim Tebow wins the Heisman again. Clemson gets a bid to the Chik-Fil-A bowl against Tennessee, Georgia finishes 9-3 with a bid to the Cotton Bowl against Missou. VT finishes undefeated but gets an Orange Bowl bid against 11-1 WVU. 12-0 USC will play 13-0 Florida for the National Championship. Florida wins 45-25 to wrap up the season. No Terps garner All ACC honors. Let's see what Turner can do as the starter.

So there you have it, in the eyes of EASports we are doomed, and Josh Portis is the only player able to get us to a bowl, albeit the Papa Johns bowl.
