UVA at Maryland EASports Simulation
I am under the assumption Chris McCray is still recovering from the bruised tailbone and gave the nod to DJ Strawberry in his place. A Gilchrist steal and an outlet pass to Garrison for a dunk gave the Terps the lead and they would never look back. Shawn Singletary looked like a freshman running the point in the unfriendly confines of the Comcast Center turning the ball over with a back court violation. Nik Caner-Medley made it count sticking a 3 from the corner. After Ekene Ibekwe converted 1 of 2 from the line, the Terps had a 12-7 lead just under 12 minutes to go in the first half. It was a physical game inside and there were not a lot of fouls called either. Caner-Medley gave the Terps a 15-9 lead with another 3. Jason Clark's 2 ft's cut the lead to 19-13. John Gilchrist hit a three from the top of the key to give MD a 30-21 lead with 4 minutes to go in the half. Travis Garrison was then injured while fouling Jason Clark. James Gist checked in for him and scored two straight baskets and MD had a 34-24 lead with 2 and half minutes remaining in the half. The Terps would stretch the lead to 41-28 at the half. Gist got the nod in the second half as Garrison would sit out the remainder of the game with a back injury. Canner-Medley hit yet another 3 for a 58-39, and another for a 63-43 lead. Both teams gave some bench players some minutes as this one was wrapped up early in the second half as the fans chanted "warm up the bus."
