Emerald Bowl 2007 MD VS Oregon State
Here we are getting ready for a bowl game none of us thought would happen. Oh wait, I need to unlock the Emerald Bowl Stadium. . . Complete. Anyway, lets be honest. At the start of the season, we would have thought this to be a disappointment, but in all honesty, with every injury this year, I will certainly take it! Oh they just use a generic stadium. BOOO! Nessler thinks it will be a good game. Herby and Corso both pick the Beavers as Dorian Smith (DE) gets the hype. OSU kicks off. Wiseman returns it out to the 23. 4:58 0-0 Lattimore dances for no gain on first. Toss right to Lattimore, he gets 3. 3rd and 7 on the 26, draw to Lattimore and he gets 3 more. Baltz out to punt from the 29. Faircatch called at the 33. 0-0 3:45 Run by Yvenson Bernard for a gain of 1. Pitch to Bernard, and Dre Moore was all over that. Kirk says he say Moore going to his room with 3 bags of food last night. On 3rd down, Moeavo drops back and is sacked by Covington. Punt, wiseman returns it for about 3 yards. 0-0 2:22 left in the first quarter. Turner hits Isaiah Williams for a gain of 11 across the middle. 1st and 10, on the 46. Draw to Lattimore and he gets 4 to the 50. Lattimore follows a lead block by Cory Jackson and gets 7 and another first to the OSU 43. Pitch right to Lattimore for a gain of 2. Turner gives it to Lattimore again for a gain of 9. Having Crummey back healthy is nice. Turner throws to Williams again and he gets 8 on a nice play action. 2nd and 2, Lattimore left, no gain. Smith was all over him on that one. 3rd and 3, Lattimore gets it again, and he gets maybe a yard. As the quarter ends it will be 4th down. Obi on for a 42 yard attempt. Oh no, false start. Moeavo evades some pressure and just tosses it away up field. Bernard stopped for a loss of 4 on 2nd. 3rd and 14, Moeavo's pass is incomplete looking along the sideline. Alexis Serma punts to Wiseman and he fumbles it. Recovered by OSU at the 30. Dagger. Henderson blows up a run in the backfield by Bernard. Henderson leaves the field. They say it is not serious. Moeavo is sacked again by Moore. 3rd and 17, Bernard in motion. Moeavo again evades pressure, heaves it toward the end zone and it is picked off by Kevin Barnes and returned out to the 13. 3-0 3:23 left in the half. Lattimore picks up six on first down. Henderson has a dislocated wrist, but will return. Lattimore with a nice gain of 3. 3rd and 1, Lattimore is stopped just short. He gains one, but they still say it is short. Baltz to punt from the 23. Returned by Taylor Kavenaugh to the 39. 3-0 2:02 in the half. WR reverse and Barnes ate it up. This game even puts the Emerald patch on the Jersey's. Ah Technology. Roberts to kick. Returned out to the 29. Moeavo hits Brandon Powers for a gain of 22. On first down Bernard gets one. TO OSU. 2n and 9, Moeavo completes a pass for a gain of 7. 3rd down, play action, and oh boy Anthony Brown is wide open for the 41 yard TD. XP good. OSU to kick. 10-7 0:35 left. Dar'ell Scott returns it out to the 27 from the 6. Draw to Lattimore for a gain of 6. TO MD. 0:28 left. Turner hit as he throws, and they rule his arm was going forward. Lucky that was not a fumble. 3rd and 4, Lattimore tries to dance for it, but comes up a yard short again. TO OSU. Baltz to punt with 0:21 left. Philistin gets the tackle on the punt. 10-7 0:14 left, at the 27. Covington gets a TFL. That will end the half. 10-7 5:00. Roberts to kick off to start the second half. OSU returns it out to the 32. Bernard with a gain of 9 right up the middle. Huge hole to run through. Bernard gets is again, and he is stopped for a loss of 3. 3rd and 4, Henderson is back. Bernard powers through the line and gets the first with a gain of 6. 1st and 10, pass deflected at the line by Henderson. 2nd and 10, Play action, and it is complete for 10 to Powers. 3rd and inches. Bernard gets the first on a run left. 1st and 10, on the MD 42. Dre Moore picks up TFL # 5. 2nd and 12, Powers catches another one in the flats right and picks up 11. 3rd and 1, Bernard gets it, and appears to be stopped just short. Travis Ivy with the tackle. 4th and inches, and they will punt it away. That one goes way out of the end zone in the air. Touch back. 10-7 1:56 in the 3rd. Lattimore stopped for a loss of 1. The quarter ends and it is 4th and 14, Wiseman back to return, He takes it from the 22, and gets it out to the 28. 10-7 4:53 left. Lattimore gets it and he takes off for a nice gain of 10. 1st and 10, on the 38. Lattimore again, makes one move, and picks up a couple. 2nd and 8, Lattimore powers his way through the line for a gain of 6. 3rd and 2, Lattimore gets it and picks up 11 as he breaks one tackle near the line of scrimmage. 1st and 10, 3:22 and counting. Lattimore gets one on a run up the middle. 2:49 and counting. Lattimore gets and it, and it is an option with Hey-Bey trailing, Lattimore keeps it and goes all the way for a 42 yard TD. Egekeze on to kick the XP and it is good. 17-7 2:38 to go in the game. Roberts to kick off. OSU returns it out to the 26. Moeavo's pass is incomplete as he is hurried again. Henderson gets a sack in what could be his final Cyber game. Loss of 7. Oh they credited it Foiku. On 3rd down, Henderson gets his own sack for a loss of 3. They are going to punt with 1:47 to go. Wiseman took all the way down to the 32 before tripping, apparently over the 35 yard line. Lattimore for a loss of 2. TO OSU, their first. Lattimore gets 7 and another TO. on 3rd down Lattimore is stopped for no gain. Obi on to try a 44 yard FG. 1:09 and counting. The kick is up and he got it. 20-7 0:56 left in the game. Anthony Brown gets the kick and takes it all the way for a score. XP is good. 0:46 remaining. 20-14 lead. Here comes the onsides. This would be worse than the Wake game if they blow this. Here goes the kick, and it is recovered by Jason Goode. Victory formation. TO OSU. a couple more snaps and it SHOULD be official. There is one successful exchange between Edwin Williams and Chris Turner. One more and it will be the game. They actually hand it off to Lattimore who picks up 2, and the clock runs out. Not sure what that was about. Very entertaining game, and believe it or not Cosh's defense was the difference. Well I guess that concludes the Cyber season for 2007. If I get a chance I will do a Cyber Season Recap for you. Look for the new release in mid July. Til then, I just got NCAA March Madness 08. I guess I will get around to that shortly.
