Maryland @ Clemson

2005 Bball

By :  Chris B.

Well this one is going to be short!  Comcast screwed me and took away my Comcast sportsnet Baltimore, and I found this out moments before tip off.  So I went scurrying to boot the computer and to log on to WBAL.com to listen To Johnny and Knocke.  Well I am sitting there and the 10-0 for Clemson had me more than concerned, considering we were turning the ball over A LOT.  We eventually took a 23-22 lead thanks to a Sterling Ledbetter basket and I thought ok, slow start no problem.  Ehhh, not quite.  The Terps would miss their final 13 shots of the half to give Clemson a  45-29 lead.  Brutal.  Sharod Ford did anything and everything he wanted in the paint putting Bowers, Ibekwe, and Garrison all in foul trouble.

The second half didn’t sound to good when listening to Johnny Holiday.  It sounded like Clemson was getting put backs at will, and MD was not hustling.  It appeared to my ears that Gilchrist was trying to take over the game and was forcing the offense taking some bad shots.  Well by the end of the debacle the final was 88-73.  In my opinion it was never that close!  Lets just say there are not going to be many good grades from this one.  By the way Clemson (the ACC’s worst shooting team) shot 60%.  Yikes.
