Temple EASports Recap

Well here we go week two according to EASports.  I don't respect Temple's program so I didn't take the time to look up the names of their players, also ran out of time this week.

I must admit if Temple's qb was on a quality team he would be an excellent qb.  The whole game he was hurried, sacked and knocked down.

After a nice defensive stand we forced them to punt and Suter once again went untouched for a 76 yard punt return td with 3:49 remaining in the first quarter.  On the first offensive possession MD had a 3 and out.  Temple reached into their bag of tricks early with a direct snap to HB 34 for a first down conversion.  WR #1 seems to be the big target with the Temple passing game making a couple of nice catches in the first quarter.  However, Foxworth came up with a huge pick.  On the next drive Suter makes a nice grab for the first completion by our boy Joel.  Statham then connected with Derrick Fenner for a 30 yd td to go up 14-0 with 3:15 to go in the half.  Fridge obviously thought he could make things happen through the air early and stuck with that plan, only mixing in a few runs to keep them honest.  Temple drove and connected with a 33 yd fg as the half expired.

On a 3rd and 8 Statham found Suter on a play action pass for a 56 yard TD with 3:33 left in the 3rd.  I must admit I was very impressed with the Owl's #11 under center, he made plays to get first downs through the air and on the ground.  Thanks to a huge sack by Shawne Lights Out Merriman's big sack they were able to hold Temple to a FG. 21-3 end of 3.  In the 4th Fridge finally let Josh Allen take over single handedly taking the Terps down field until Statham hit Suter on a 14 yd Td pass.  The rest of the game was a lot of short drives for Temple and Md running out the clock.  28-3 Final.   Statham was 6-14 with 163yds and 3td's.  Suter was player of the game with 4 catches for 109 and 2td's plus another punt return for a td.  Allen had 11 carries for 65 yds.  Merriman and Eli combined for 17 tackles and each recorded 2 sacks.

Sorry this wasn't as good as the last, but I was pressed for time and the game was dull.  Look for the tailgate to be the most memorable event in CP this week.
