Temple Tailgate Recap

By Bob W.

Overall:

Once again Denton 7 pulled off another perfect tailgate (no surprise there, these things aren’t exactly shuttle launches).  The tailgate went off without a hitch, no major things were forgotten and a good time was had by all.   There was a couple of key absences, and they all know who they are.  As for the overall tailgating environment, I think it was a little lacking compared to the Northern Illinois game.  But in the Maryland tailgaters defense, it is a little hard to get up for a game like Temple.

Tailgate Highlights:

I think the tailgate highlight had to be getting the Dance Team to pose with the Beer Pong table.  Other highlights included the once again epic games of flip cup.  I honestly don’t know how many more games I could have played without throwing up.  The rhythmic applause leading up to each match was adrenaline pumping and got the attention of all the other parking lots.  It’s as if to say we are Denton 7 and we are here to drink!

Tailgate Lowlights:

I could ramble on about our ability to play beer pong again, but that won’t make for very good reading.  What I would like to say would be my low light is going to Terp Alley.  Was Terp Alley in itself a low light, oh quite the opposite.  Terp Alley was a blast, and I highly recommend all Lights Out Shirts be there each week.  The lowlight was having a great shot of Jason shaking hands with the fridge and me not being able to pull the trigger.  That burned me up for a while.  I apologize to Jason, the Fridge and to Denton 7 who all missed out on a great photo Op.

Tailgate MVP:

Despite being responsible for the botched Fridge Photo, I am going to have to nominate myself as the Tailgate MVP (I am in dead last in fantasy baseball, come guys at least let me have this).  I was first Denton 7’er on campus.  I remembered the ping pong balls, cups, propane, and lighter.  I took one for the team by taking the dance squad photo as opposed to being in the photo, and I (as well as Vince) finished the day without ever losing a flip cup match.  (Giving Vince and I to the opposing team had to be up there as one of the worst trades ever).  My honorable mention this week goes out to J (and Mary).  J was only 2 minutes behind me arriving to campus and loaded the beer pong table into his truck all by itself.  Very admirable.
