UVA Wahoopie Weather Forecast
Virginia Forecast:
“All the Hoo’s down in Hooville, will be crying Boo Hoo.” Chief D-7 Meteorologist Bob Wevodau
If the Terps can successfully navigate the mine field that is Death Valley this game will have huge implications for us. If not, well you could always tour Thomas Jefferson’s house while you are down there or maybe take in some fall foliage. Assuming we are 4-3 going into this (talk about a leap of faith), it is a must win if we want to keep playing into December. I think we can all agree our offense could use another month of practice before Spring Ball fires up and a Bowl Bid would do just that. The only question is going to be which UVA squad shows up. The one that ran through the early part of the schedule, or the down to earth squad we saw in Tallahassee? Since the FSU game was on the road we will assume the Wahoopies will be up for this one. However, one factor in the Terps favor is that UVA will be hosting Miami the week after us. Can you say look ahead game? On to the weather.
The average high for November 6th in Charlottesville, VA is 63F°. The low is about 41F°. Game time will definitely have a say in what to wear for this one, an afternoon start will feel like autumn, a night start could feel like winter. The record high for the date is 84F° (1961) and the record low is a freezing 25F° (1991).
Well it looks like the Farmers are fired up for this rivalry because they specifically mentioned the Maryland v. Virginia game in the Alamanc! OK that isn’t true, but they did give a detailed forecast for the Mid-Atlantic for like the first time in 4 football games. The Almanac is officially calling for crisp air over the Mid-Atlantic with the air turning milder later in the weekend. It looks like we may see some temperatures slightly below the average, but the weather should be clear with no chance of rain. So my forecast looks like this:
The forecast for the November 6, 2004 “Charlottesville Showdown” game is for a beautiful cool but clear day. There shouldn’t be but a few clouds in the sky, though this will make for a sunny day, it will also make for a cool morning due to radiational cooling (no cloud cover to keep the heat in the atmosphere). The morning temps should be in the low 40’s and worst case scenario, high 30’s. The afternoon should warm up to the upper 50’s. As for precipitation, I don’t think we will see any. Mother Nature will do her part to make it a nice day, will the Terps?
The game time sunrise for Charlottesville is for 6:45 am. And the sunset is scheduled for 5:08 pm (Dark by 5:30, how depressing is that?!). As of yet, no game time has been set. I really don’t know what kind of game time they would give this match up, but my instincts are telling me it will be a noon start. The moon should be on it’s last quarter (38% lamination).
Look here for further updates, as we get closer to game day. The X-Factor:
***This is a disclaimer to remove all responsibility on myself if this forecast is wrong. Being that it is very difficult to predict the weather greater than 48 hours in advance, the odds of needing this disclaimer are about 100%. However I do believe this forecast will be pretty close to what we can actually look to expect.
