Wake Forrest Forecast
Wake Forest Forecast:
“There’s nothing like a Wake Football game to make you feel better about your own program” Chief D-7 Meteorologist Bob Wevodau
Who says we aren’t in a Bowl Game? We most definitely are. It is called the “Wait until Basketball Season” Bowl game and it is in College Park this Saturday!! No they won’t have fancy t-shirts and parades and all that garbage, just two teams limping into the off season. I am still looking forward to this one though and the possibility of seeing some of the younger guys get action. Also look for a triple reverses, flee flickers, and statue of liberty plays. When two teams have nothing to lose, that’s when football really gets entertaining. As for your WUBS Bowl weather, no it isn’t South Beach, or the Georgia Dome, but not bad for the Mid Atlantic this time of year. It looks like we made it through the whole season with pretty good football weather. Anyway…..
The average high for November 27, in College Park, MD is 53F°. The low is about 37F°. The record high for the date would be a gorgeous 78F° (1896) and the record low is a pretty cold 14F° (1938). Based on the dates of those records, don’t expect them to be broken this year.
Do you like Turkey? Do you like Thanksgiving? Well the Farmers Almanac doesn’t. The long range Mid Atlantic forecast is calling for Wet Weather to predominate the Thanksgiving weekend. Isn’t that a crock! Well I for one won’t let the Farmer’s Almanac ruin my Turkeyday/WUSB Bowl weekend. In fact, I am just going to ignore their forecast and hope it goes away. We will call this the ostrich method of forecasting (patent pending).
The forecast for the November 27, 2004 “Wait Until Basketball Season” Bowl game is for a pretty average day. The Almanac wants to call for rain, but I think the 2004 Terps and their fans have suffered enough, so I say screw them! We are going to have perfect weather. The morning temp should be in the low 40’s which will be cold, but come on people it is almost December what did you expect. Luckily the afternoon will warm up quite nicely and the high should be around the average, which would be the low 50’s. The precipitation is going to be minimal, unless the Ostrich method proves to be totally inaccurate (in which case carry an umbrella).
The game day sunrise for College Park is for 7:04 am. And the sunset is scheduled for 4:47 pm (4:47! That is just brutal). The moon will be full, but it won’t rise until 5:11 pm which will be well after the sun has set on November 27 and the Terps 2004 Football Season.
Look here for further updates, as we get closer to game day. 1898 – In the “Again why did we invite BC into the Conference Category”: The "Portland" storm raged across New England producing gale force winds along the coast and heavy snow inland. A foot of snow blanketed Boston MA, and 27 inches fell at New London CT. Winds at Boston gusted to 72 mph, and wind gusts to 98 mph were estimated at Block Island RI. A passenger ship, the S. S. Portland, sank off Cape Cod with the loss of all 191 persons aboard, and Boston Harbor was filled with wrecked ships. The storm wrecked 56 vessels resulting in a total of 456 casualties. (26th- 28th) (David Ludlum) (The Weather Channel). When it finally becomes time to plan our BC road trip, make sure we drive as opposed to going by boat.
***This is a disclaimer to remove all responsibility on myself if this forecast is wrong. Being that it is very difficult to predict the weather greater than 48 hours in advance, the odds of needing this disclaimer are about 100%. However I do believe this forecast will be pretty close to what we can actually look to expect.
