ACC - Big 10 Challange Vs. Wisconsin

The honeymoon is over, literally for me and figuratively for the Terps. What happened to the team we saw dominate Memphis? The team that showed up last night was downright awful. 1st Half- The tone was set for the night when the Terps won the opening tip only to have Mr. Garrison turn it over with an ill advised pass. Wisconsin was poised and with the crowd behind them they looked confident and ran their offense well. Actually one guy ran their offense. Avando Tucker dominated all who tried to guard him. Even DJ, our best defender, couldn’t keep him from scoring 20pts in the first half. The Terps were rushing their shots, not rebounding, and lacked enthusiasm. What happened to the crisp passing we saw last Friday night? Wisconsin’s defense must be one of the best in the country cause the Terps couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. With 8:00 min remaining in the 1st half, I shouted, for the 1st but not last time, Caner Medley you suck!!! Also, who cares about Barry Alvarez and his broken foot. If you can’t play a round of golf without severely injuring yourself then your doing something wrong. Stick to football Barry. Mike Jones and Gist couldn’t seem to get things going either. The big freshman goon for Wisc.should have been tossed for trying to break Garrison’s leg. The first half ended at what seemed like midnight with the Terps trailing, but it was close. Too bad Tucker and the Badger bench were killing our starting 5. There was still another half to play and I was sure Gary would be able to fire them up at the half. 2nd Half- Well I was wrong. The Terps stunk the joint up in the second half just like they did in the first. I have one good thing noted for the last 20 minutes. “17:22 left and Terps take Lead. Gilchrist driving to the hoop more often.” After that it was Ibekwe or nothing. Caner Medley why did you even make the trip? McCray how bout you stop pounding your chest and just play. DJ still can’t shoot. Garrison played ok even though his leg was broken. Ibekwe played hard and attacked the basket. His free throw shooting is still poor. (Nice air ball after they just complimented your form) He gets the lone gold star for the game. The Terps shooting went sub zero, it was just frigid in the first half. They went for every head fake and shot free throws just like they did last year, poorly. Conclusion- They stunk. If this is the only game the ACC loses we will know why we don’t get any respect. Cause we choked! There were plenty of opportunities to take over the game and the Terps either missed the shot or were called for a charge. Gilchrist should stop thinking about the NBA because he is not consistent enough to play with the big boys yet. I think he will definitely be around another year.
